yo ppl its been a while!

Asean schools comp was realli the bomb man...
It was freaking fun, despite being held in singapore this year.
haha. i guess we were unlucky that Singapore was the host country for the games this year, if not we would have been together for 10 daes instead, and it would have been an even more exciting experience.

Being one of the younger ones there, I thought that there were bound to be some huge "generation" gaps between us and the older athletes. However, we manage to get along very well in the end, and they all performed very well in their respective events, it was really realy fun having you guys. realli fun.

The only bad thing about this competition is that it was held in the middle of term 3? which is usually the most hectic week for most of the athletes. Well, but i guess we can't change it as it has always be held at this time for years. LoL. It was amazing how we spent the six days in the hotel. We cherished and made full use of our limited time... yesh... we played and laugh a hell lot, and many of us failed to accomplish our "studying scheme" terribly whahha. I guess such things are sorta inevitable? Haha... cause once we went to the hotel we all switched into the holiday mood, as we were told that we were strictly not allowed to go home, attend lessons or tuitions or leave the team for whatever reason. I finally understood what they were trying to do. They were trying to bond as a team, yup.

I really miss the moments we all had together as a team.

I wish you guys the best in everything you undertake, and i hope that this is only the beginning of a lifelong friendship

*we were once rivals, but we came in as a team, and now lets walk out as one too....

here are some of the pics

i guess i have learnt ...

there is no point focusing so much on sports after all...

Cause it ain't always fair. Rather that i spend this time on studies, yup.
But still tomorrow is the Asean's Youth Competition, skipping one week of school. I know i will be dead meat when I go back to school on the following week. Sigh.... hahaa
but i'll juz enjoy my time... i will not set an unrealistic goal to hit first or whatsoever, since its under 18, my goal is just to do a good job and have fun. Well at least this would shield me frm any disappointment i hope (:

...and someone has to win. only one..

external factors that are beyond his control have taken away all of my dreams. He could have won that hard fought battle if not for that ...

plainly unfair ...plainly unfair.

Only those who have witnessed it with their own eyes would understand what I am saying, how was i feeling, and why it was unfair...

As for the rest... I think it would be better for me to refrain from telling the truth... for the truth is so incredible that no one would believe. Except those who were there, who saw it, and felt that pain that i felt.

Just like Maradona.. the Argentine footballer who used his hand and smack the ball right into the goal. The referee didn't see it and counted it as a goal, as a result the players of the opposing team were fuming mad and that ball...caused Argentina to win that match... But even after they found out the truth through a Video playback, there was no rematch or whatsoever....

It is always this unfair...

But at least the truth was discovered later.... But the truth would never be accepted in my case.. and even if it did, an apology would follow... and what next? all would still be the same...... I have to accept it...

Hci is a trouble for track....Lawerence have injured himself and that means we are not getting any points from the 100, 400 Hurdles, and 4X100 Relay.....

The winning streak shall not end.... stand strong my warriors... for those who have fallen would be pinning their hopes on us now..... We have trained so hard... we have come so far... this is the day that we make our sacrifices worthwhile.

Godspeed,
Godstrength,

All the best team.

Is winning the only goal that we all should strive for in life?

We all know the model answer to that question don't we?
Most of us have even been told about the answer to that as well. How many times have you heard others saying "it is the experience that matters" and not the amount of gold medals you have, nor the number of records you set. As cliché as it sounds, you would be surprised to find that those who believe in that, are only the adults, or perhaps some sportsmen of our age who have once made it to the top of the ladder and fell straight down before. Why is this so? It is because of the experience they gain, whether as they age, or as they face major setbacks in life.

I would be talking about this issue, more inclined towards the perspective of a sportsman.

Since winning is not about everything in life, then why should we fight so hard for that medal, for that record? Simply said, if we do not fight to win, if we do not put winning as our short-term goal, we would not gain much valuable experience, and we will be simply wasting our time off. Perhaps many of you might be confused at this point. At first I mentioned that winning is not everything, and it is the experience that matter... and at the next moment I have said that you have to set a goal to WIN, in order to gain experience, ain't I contradicting with myself? haha.

Well... you can look at this issue from a simpler way.

You reap what you sow. We are all aware of this, which is why many top athletes have to work doubly hard to fight for their gold medal. Because you gotta plant that seed before you reap your rewards.

We all have in mind what this seed is. Setting a goal to win, working hard towards it with commitment, determination and perseverance, making sacrifices outta those less important things in life. And once you have done that you would definitely reap your reward in time to come, in whatever circumstances.

Why do I say so? We know that there can only be ONE champion that stands out from the rest even if there are 10 who strive and tried their best to get the gold medal. So can there be 10 ppl getting the same reward? of course not...

The reward, which I am referring to is not the gold medal, but the experience you gain in life through working hard. Perhaps for now all we care is the gold medal and nothing else, but as time past, as we age, as we learn from our mistakes and overcome the obstacles in our life... the humble seed which we have planted many years back would have finally transformed into a tree.

Set your goals... It is perfectly alright to thirst for that medal, but in the process of doing so... be gracious and never forget about sportsmanship.

If you get the gold, congrats... you have done everyone proud... but do not forget about those who didn't as well.
If you didn't, accept your defeat graciously and its not the end yet... your rewards will only be reaped much later :)

I have decided to specially dedicated this entry to all the sportsmen for this is the competition period for Track and Field, I hope you guys find it useful (:

Remember. Pursue Victory With Honor
